Cooked Ninjin (carrot) with Mirin and butter

This is the conclusion recipe for BAM 5: Renkon (Lotus) hamburgers with rice and Ninjin.

These carrots are sweet, buttery and have a touch of salt. They go with just about anything.

Ingredients
2 Carrots cut and peeled
1 teaspoon of mirin
1 teaspoon of unsalted butter
pinch of salt

1) Peel your carrots and start at one end and cut at a diagonal. Turn the carrot 90 degrees away from you and cut at the same angle. Repeat until you get to the end. These will give you nice unusual shape.
2) Boil your carrots in water until they are soft but firm.
3) Drain and put it back in the pot and add the mirin, butter and salt. Allow the mirin to burn off any alcohol and butter to melt in. (approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute).

Easy breezy!
